Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church is blessed to have Rev. Alonte R. Hill as our Pastor. A native of Bessemer, Alabama, Rev. Hill has been devoted to his faith since childhood. At the age of six, he confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in the Mobile Junction community.
In 2018, Rev. Hill felt God’s call to preach the gospel. Though New Salem was without a pastor at the time, Rev. Charles Hollingsworth of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Brighton welcomed him as a spiritual son. At just fourteen, he received his license to preach, and by seventeen, he was ordained into the gospel ministry.
Rev. Hill is a 2022 graduate of McAdory High School and is currently a senior at Samford University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Christian and Religious Studies. He also participates in the Pre-Ministerial Scholars Program, which equips aspiring ministers for leadership in the church and community.
He has faithfully served in multiple roles within both the church and the broader community. Rev. Hill served as Interim Helper at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church from 2021 to 2022 and resumed this role in November 2024. From 2021 to 2025, he served as Youth Minister at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, leading the youth with passion and purpose. In 2023, under the leadership of Rev. Victor L. Harkins, he was appointed Assistant Youth Director for the Jefferson County District Missionary Baptist Association.
After a season of prayer and divine guidance, Rev. Hill was chosen to lead Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church as Pastor on June 29, 2025, and was officially installed on September 28, 2025.
As our Pastor, Rev. Alonte R. Hill, exemplifies faithful service to God, unwavering commitment to ministry, and a heartfelt passion for sharing the gospel with all. Under his leadership, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church continues to grow in faith, love, and outreach to the community.
